Medicare and Healthfund Claiming

Can I use my private health fund?

Yes, we have a HICAPS machine in the clinic that will allow you to claim from your private health fund directly. Rebates are dependent on your level of health cover. An initial physiotherapy consultation is covered by the code 500 and subsequent treatment is covered by the code 505.

Can I use a Team Care Arrangement (TCA) plan at your clinic?

Yes, we accept Team Care Arrangement plans. You are eligible for a TCA (up to 5 Medicare rebated visits) if you have a chronic condition or require complex care from two or more health providers, in addition to the care from your GP. Unfortunately we do not bulk bill TCA plans, so gap payments apply.

How much is the current Medicare Rebate through A TCA plan?

Please reach out to our friendly receptionists or Medicare for most current rebate rates.

Can I use both my private health insurance and my TCA in the same session?

Unfortunately not. However, we are happy to provide you with a quote from your private health provider to find out which rebate will be higher for you.

Appointments

How long will my appointment be?

Initial appointments can take up to 50 minutes and follow up appointments can be anywhere between 20 minutes to 60 minutes. Your physiotherapist will let you know before your next appointment how long they require for your follow up appointment so that you can plan your day well in advance.

What can I expect at my initial appointment?

All of our treatment sessions are performed in private treatment rooms to ensure that you are receiving all of our treatment while also retaining your privacy. Your physiotherapist will take a thorough history to determine your concerns and create a problem list with you. Goals will be developed with both the physiotherapist and the patient. Any relevant assessments may be incorporated such as questionnaires, bladder and bowel diaries and physical exams of the body’s movement. If appropriate and required, an internal vaginal or rectal examination may be provided, with consent. Finally, a treatment plan will be developed in collaboration with yourself.

Can I still attend my appointment if I haven’t done my exercises?

Yes! Attending when you haven’t done your exercises is one the best ways of getting the most out of your physiotherapy rather than waiting until the “right time” or until you “have done the exercises”. Our physiotherapists can discuss with you any barriers to performing your exercises and re-adjust them accordingly to make them more achievable for you and as a result allow you to reach your goals at a faster rate!

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable clothing is ideal! Anything that you are able to move around in such as tights, shorts or tracksuit pants are preferable. If we need to examine your leg, knee or ankle, we please ask that you wear or bring shorts with you and if we need to examine your shoulders that you please wear or bring a singlet with you.

Group Class Information

Do I need to be a patient of your clinic to participate in your group classes?

No! We are happy to support everyone with their rehabilitation and goals. If you would like to join one of our classes we ask that you complete an pre-group exercise assessment with one of our physiotherapists first to allow us to determine your goals, concerns and ensure your safety when entering the classes.

Can I get any money back from my private health fund for participating in the group classes?

Yes! Depending on your level of cover, you may be entitled to a rebate from your private health fund. If you would like to find out if you are covered the code is 560.

Do I need to commit to a specific class or can I come and go as I wish?

As these classes have a focus on rehabilitation and are physiotherapist run, you are required to sign up to one specific class per term. Our terms run per NSW school term, however if spots remain you are welcome to join later in the term or as a casual!

Do I need to bring anything to my class?

No, we have all the equipment and mats here! We do recommend bringing a towel for comfort and a bottle of water to ensure that you stay hydrated.

Do I wear shoes to the class?

Our classes are performed barefoot as it allows us to work on foot mobility and strength (an integral part of our movement). You are welcome to purchase some MoveActive socks from us if you would prefer to have something on your feet during the class. These socks allow you to use your postural muscles of your feet while also having some grip to support you during the exercise.

Note: Grip socks are compulsory in our studio equipment classes due to hygiene and safety.

Do I have to have a certain level of fitness to participate in your classes?

Absolutely not! Our classes are tailored to the individual and will factor in your level of fitness. Due to small class numbers (5-6 in a class) we are able to assist each patient in reaching their potential in an achievable way through modifications and tailored practice.
